In Her Skin

  Is a story about a 15 year old girl who goes missing in Australia. This movie follows the real life murder of a young girl who goes missing after dance class.  The story follows a deeply disturbed 19 year old woman named  Caroline Reid, who has a strange obsession with a teenage girl named  Rachel Barber who Caroline believes is living perfection. The movie starts off with two concerned parents who find out there daughter is late to be picked up from recital, which never happens. The flustered parents contact the police and are met with laughs. The story flips to Caroline Reed (played with great ability by Ruth Bradley) who is seen as an angry insecure woman who desperately needs her fathers approval (played by Sam Neill) and for some unknown reason despises her mother.  She's seen as a self loathing woman constantly wishing to be Rachel Barber. We see her quickly escalating mental breakdown and a  fast dive into into insanity. She comes up with a very disturbing plan to lure Rachel into her home under the delusional belief that if she kills her she will become her. A fantastically acted and directed film that is sure to send a shiver to your very soul

Movies of 2012-Review

 

Wreck It Ralph, where to begin? What an immersive movie, I literally felt like I was in an arcade game.  Probably the best animated movie I've seen this year and I've seen quite a-few good ones. So that's telling., but what is the plot about? Well if you don't know already, it's about an arcade game character who plays a bad guy who wrecks the building only to have hero Fix It Felix Junior fix everything. But is he really a bad guy? Not so much. He wants so desperately to be accepted and find a place in arcade land where he is not a bad guy. So he Game-hops to Heros Duty and from there ends up in a girly race car game called Sugar Rush. Where he meets a young girl, who is a glitch in the system and isn't allowed to race. Fix It Felix Junior and Jane Lynchs Calhoun look-alike character join him to destroy the giant pod bugs he's brought to Sugar Rush. It's a sweet and endearing story. that shows what appears a certain way on the outside, isn't always that way on the inside. I highly recommend it!

ParaNorman was a little surprise treat for me. Everything about this movie is superb from the voice acting to the animation to the plot-line and back again. This movie centers around a pre-teen named Norman who can see dead people, including his grandmother! He can see dead animals as-well and he soon finds out from his uncle that a witches curse has hit the town this year. He must be the one to silence the young witch and bring her back to a silent grave. This movie surpasses other animated films in adult humor, that will go straight over kids heads! Fun zombies and an abundance of horror references.

Movie Reviews Of The month and TV Guilty Pleasures

The Dark Knight Rises is a dark and violent movie. Particularly for it being only PG-13. It stars Christian Bale as Batman (duh) as he starts to rise from the turmoil of a broken heart and a broken leg. There is chaos again in Gotham (why do people still live there?) as Bane and his gang of prison warriors start there attack and plant a bomb. Anne Hatheaway is amazing as jewel thieving Catwoman. She tells Batman a "storm is coming" after stealing his mothers prized pearls. But is she all bad? You'll have to watch the movie to find out. Other highlights include Commissioner Gordon's  return (Gary Oldman) and Joseph Gordon Levitt as police officer Blake.

I rate this film 9/10

Selita Ebanks looking amazing in  a black Stella McCartney dress. She gives a darker look to the summer season and still looks perfect.

Emmy Rossum is on the red carpet for a TV Channel event. The dress fits her like a glove and is a Zuhair Murad Fall 2012 cocktail dress. Lace is always in style and a staple among stars, and this look really brings it in that department.

Movies I've seen recently

Moonrise Kindom is an extremely visually effective movie. From the way the camera pans from room to room, as though the house is a dollhouse. To the old fashioned bright 1960s clothing. The cinematography is gorgeous. The story follows two 12 year olds with emotional issues who fall in love and make a pact to run away together. One (the girl) runs way from home. The other a boy orphan running away from Camp Ivanhoe a scout troop. The local group of parents and authority figures go crazy looking for them and trying to prevent (Tilda Swinton) social services from taking the boy (Sam) to a home for disturbed boys since his foster parents no longer want him.

I rate this movie 9/10

Music I've Been Loving (and classics)

An oldie but a goodie by Bob Seger. Came out in December of 1976, this song really brings it! One of my favorite classic rock songs. It turned Bob Seger into a national star.
